Overview

CX Riot Radio is a gritty, no-holds-barred customer experience podcast that calls BS on corporate buzzwords and surface-level service strategies. Hosted by David Powers, a veteran of the blue-collar call center trenches, the show blends real-world insights with a caffeine-fueled, punk rock attitude. With over 240 episodes and counting, CX Riot Radio is where frontline truths meet operational strategy—uncensored, unsponsored, and unapologetic.

Tagline

“Where your corporate CX strategy gets punched in the throat—with love.”

Mission

To amplify the voices of frontline workers, expose the real drivers of customer loyalty (and churn), and challenge the sanitized, boardroom-friendly version of customer experience with a more honest, human-first approach.

Host Bio: David Powers

David is a published author, speaker, and Operations Support Manager at Rooter Hero Plumbing & Air. With over two decades of experience in CX, call center operations, and marketing, David brings a raw, real perspective to the conversation. Starting his journey in a dial-up internet retention call center in 1999 and rising through the ranks in the trades industry, his insights are battle-tested, story-driven, and always laced with humor and blunt truth.

Fun Fact: David describes his style as “ADHDcore meets blue-collar grind.”

What Makes This Podcast Different

Anti-Corporate, Pro-Human: This isn’t a safe, sanitized podcast with HR-approved talking points. CX Riot Radio speaks directly to the people who live and breathe service work—and calls out those who don't.

Frontline First: Most CX podcasts cater to C-suites. This one listens to reps, dispatchers, and team leads—the folks who actually talk to customers.

Punk Rock Energy: Think more Black Flag, less Ritz-Carlton. Episodes move fast, go deep, and aren’t afraid to say what everyone else is thinking.

No Sponsors, No Fluff: You won’t hear mattress ads or fake excitement. Every episode is driven by real stories, practical insights, and the desire to make CX better from the bottom up.

Built for the Trades: While CX Riot Radio speaks to all industries, it has deep roots in HVAC, plumbing, and other blue-collar services—an underrepresented voice in CX content.
